Beauty Review: MAC Retro Matte Lipstick

Lipstick can take any makeup look from 5 to 10 in an instant. Lately I’ve been really into liquid lipsticks but in this blog I’d like to focus on the classic lipstick. The classic MAC Lipstick comes in  220 shades. Out of all of those shades, my favorite happens to be the Retro Matte Finishes. I am not referring to the Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour  but I am referring to the classic, standard MAC lipsticks that come in the retro matte finish.

I purchased my first lipstick in the retro matte finish a few years ago in the shade Flat Out Fabulous. It’s one of my favorite lipsticks in my entire collection. It’s a beautiful bright pinky plum shade. It stands out just enough but not too much. It’s very fun and will be sure to bring out your girly side.

Recently for my birthday I received another lipstick in the Retro Matte Finish, Ruby Woo. I have been wanting this shade for the longest time and I was so excited when I got it. It is truly the perfect red. I’ve been looking for the perfect red lipstick for years and I’ve definitely found it. I cannot wait to continue to wear this and I know I will end up repurchasing.

Since I recently received Ruby Woo, I was reminded of why I am so in love the MAC lipsticks in the Retro Matte Finish. They retail for $17.00 and you definitely get your money’s worth. My favorite thing about this matte finish is that it’s a little different then your regular matte lipstick. In my opinion it isn’t as drying on your lips but you’ll still need to apply chapstick before hand just for application purposes. It’s matte but not too matte, it’s the perfect matte. Aside from matte liquid lipsticks, these are the only other matte lipsticks I like. For anyone who’s really into the matte liquid lip trend I highly recommend these and it’ll be good for you to try something different and take a break from the liquid lip.

Out of all of the finishes of the classic MAC lipstick, I have to say these last the longest. The quality of these lipsticks justifies the price and they are the only finish that I am willing to pay for. I just love them so much and I can’t say enough positive things about them. With that being said, please give them a try! I have some interesting things coming up, stay tuned for more XOXO ❤
